We all agree that pagerank means pretty much nothing in the grand scheme of things. But there are still PR whores out there who pay close attention to the PR of their sites for a variety of reasons:

• It still provides some type of measuring stick
• Advertisers use it to value a site, so we have to follow the money
• Vanity

I admit that I DO pay attention to my Pagerank and mainly for vanity. It’s just… interesting to see what it is at. I don’t harp on it and don’t really give a flying fig newton but when I notice that one of my sites hit PR6 I grinned a little – its a new PR record! A bunch of my sites moved around, some up and some down, so it’s definitely an in transit update.

That being said, I know there are probably plenty of people shaking their head in disappointment that I’m doing a post on pagerank. Hopefully my good stuff makes up for the bad stuff but if you don’t think so there is a little “hate box” down below otherwise known as “comments”. Feel free to flame away, bitches!
